The minimum age of any rum in the blend is 7 years, but the oldest drop is decades old: Every time we make Havana 7, a proportion of the final blend is put back into barrel to age for many more years until it is ready to form the heart of future production. The result is a complex rum with deep layers of Cuban flavors that is best enjoyed neat or with your own twist. A voluptuous, silky entry leads to a balanced yet extraordinarily complex palate of vibrant and refined warm cocoa, vanilla, sugarcane, chestnut and caramelised tropical fruit flavours braced by firm, smooth oak and rich brown spice. Method: • Fill the glass with ice. • Add the sugar syrup and stir. • Add the bitters, dry vermouth and Havana Club Añejo 7 años. • Stir well and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
